Candice Rockwell

Belief

I profoundly believe in the essential and transformative power of understanding an individual's unique perspective. This forms the foundation of my counselling approach, which aims to provide tailored support that resonates with your specific needs.

Approach

Inspired by Maya Angelou’s words, “I’ve learned that people will never forget how you made them feel,” I emphasize creating a safe and inclusive space where individuals feel respected, valued, and empowered to embrace their authentic selves. Operating from a holistic perspective, I work to understand the connections between the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of your life to provide well-rounded, collaborative support drawing from evidence-based therapeutic approaches and personalized interventions to empower navigation through life’s complexities in a way that is meaningful to you.

Background

As a counsellor with an undergraduate degree in biochemistry, I am interested in whole-body systems and concepts of regulation and dysregulation, which inform my practice. This perspective has been further fostered through my experience raising a neurodiverse child, providing me with a first-hand understanding and empathy for the unique challenges and triumphs that individuals and families face in navigating the intricacies of neurodiversity. By completing a master’s degree in counselling psychology from Yorkville University, I hope to continue to develop and strengthen my capacity to provide inclusive and compassionate care and support to those who need it.
