From Pregnancy to Postpartum: Ways to support your mental health through the journey

new date! wednesday, May 8 7:00-8:00pm

facilitated by: Erica Burdzy

There is so much information available on preparing for a new baby, caring for your newborn, and the best items to put on your registry. Postpartum mental health resources are harder to find! One in five new mothers experience a postpartum mood disorder, but many are told that what they are feeling is part of the normal changes that follow giving birth. It is so important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of postpartum mood disorders, to have a supportive team, resources available, and a plan before the baby comes. This workshop will go through the things that you can do prior to baby’s arrival to prepare your mental health, signs and symptoms you should know, what partners and friends can do, and what local resources are available.

A psychoeducational workshop for both children and their parents about how OCD may be impacting your family. The purpose of this webinar will be to hopefully foster the beginnings of gaining some confidence and bravery for talking back to your OCD. I hope to help provide common language for children and parents to use when communicating about some of the struggles you may be experiencing when OCD is present within your household.

In this talk you will learn:

  • How OCD can present and differing forms of it

  • The common cycle of OCD (obsessive thoughts and compulsions)

  • Getting to know your core fear

  • Ways for parents to support their kiddos with these challenges

  • Unhooking your thoughts

  • Setting the intention to live boldly

  • Community resources for support with OCD
