Registered Psychologist

As human beings we are biologically wired to crave connection. For that reason, I believe that the relationships we hold with others are crucial to our development and provides us with the greatest opportunity for healing emotional and psychological wounds. As a therapist, my intention is to foster a therapeutic relationship with you filled with kindness, patience, empathy, and compassion. I believe that through this experience of such a positive relationship, you can find the insight, clarity, and empowerment to heal from the problems you are facing. It would be my privilege to embark on this journey of growth with you.

About me

I am Registered Psychologist, in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists, and I am a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. I have over ten years of experience being in service to individuals, families, children and teens. I hold a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with a psychology major from the University of Alberta, and a Masters of Counselling Degree from City University of Seattle.

Approach

Using a client-centred approach, my commitment as your therapist is to provide a safe, respectful and nonjudgmental environment from which you can begin to explore yourself, your past, your current circumstances, and the life you want to live. I attempt to do this by designing a treatment plan that is unique to you and where you are at in your process of overcoming your struggles.

With that being said, I derive my approach primarily from theories guiding Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and Narrative therapy. Furthermore, I work from a trauma informed lens and am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for working specifically with processing trauma.
