Wellness Matters Self Compassion
This presentation is intended to provide an introduction to the practice of self-compassion. Anyone can learn self-compassion, and most of us are able to identify moments where we have been able to practice some form of self-care. At other times, we may find it a struggle to show ourselves the same kindness we would generously offer to our loved ones, friends, colleagues and even strangers in moments of suffering.
Have you noticed a tendency to criticize yourself in difficult situations? Perhaps you have felt the harsh sting of the cruel words you say to yourself when you fail, make a mistake or just don’t quite live up to your expectations. Self-compassion practice can be a way out of the vicious cycle of self-shaming.
In this presentation, you will learn key information and basic skills you can practice each day to help alleviate emotional distress and improve self-worth and self-esteem.
